Welcome to Cook Class.
We are looking forward to an amazing year. We have researched Captain James Cook and know what an amazing explorer he was.
We realise that to succeed in life; resilience, determination and hard work is needed.
All of the children in our class are capable of great things and we believe that we can guide and teach them so that they can make good progress this year.
We hope that you enjoy reading about our learning journey!
Term 5...The Stories That People Tell
This term our topic will be literacy based, studying a wide range of different types of stories. We shall be exploring myths and legends from around the world, fables and a range of traditional and fairy stories.
We hope to introduce the children to new stories and that they come home and tell you all about the new and exciting characters they have met that day!
We shall be visiting Groombridge Place on Thursday 26th May, where we hope to be inspired to write our own exciting stories.
Welcome to Term 4.
This term our topic is 'Superhumans'.
We shall be learning what humans and animals need to survive and about the amazing features and skills they have. For humans we shall be exploring our senses, how to maintain a healthy diet, exercise and keeping our bodies healthy. The school cooks will be visiting us to share how they plan and present delicious school dinners for us.
Animals will be classified and grouped according to their features.
Do you know if a bearded dragon is an amphibian or a reptile?
'The Circus is Coming to Town'.
We shall be finding out what a circus is, where and when they began and how they have changed over time. We shall be having Circus Workshops in February where we actually get to use a range of real circus equipment. Our Personal Learning Goal will be 'Resilience'! We shall be trying really hard to work independently and together with our peers to solve problems and do the very best that we can.
We are still reading 'Charlie and the chocolate factory' by Roald Dahl. Our next class novel will be a collection of circus stories by Enid Blyton.
