We are committed here at Temple Hill to support, recognise and celebrate the differences within our local community. As a school we are expected to actively promote the "protected characteristics" of the Equality Act (2010). They are:
This means it is unlawful to discriminate against someone based on the above characteristics.
We consider and address issues around Equality and Diversity through our assembly programme, our School Council, Philosophy for Children sessions and our everyday curriculum.
8th March 2017
Today we celebrated International Women's Day by holding a special assembly. We watched a small piece of drama (thanks Sascha and Thevni!) followed by some startling statistics. We heard that when including household responsibilities women do on (average) 7/10 of the world's work yet earn only 1/10 of the world's income!
We encouraged all girls at Temple Hill to aim high to reach their full potential and they should never think that there are jobs or careers they cannot aspire to.
