Last Thursday the girl’s football team took part in an annual knockout tournament at Princes Park with 6 local primary schools. It was our first fixture of the year and the girls were all nervous when we arrived at the pitch. Our first match was against Joydens Wood, it was a tough start to the tournament with Joydens wood scoring quickly. I was so proud that the girl’s picked themselves up after a defeat and played stronger with every match that they played. For some of the girls it was their first ever football tournament, Kaycee Burns played fantastically as a new recruit for the Temple Hill girls. Shelby and Lisa played confidently up front, working together to keep the pressure on the opposition. Although the result was not what we had hoped for, the girls showed their perseverance and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. With weekly training continuing, we have our fingers crossed for our next match!
Well done to: Shelby, Lisa, Lillie-May, Maisie, Kaycee, Jennifer, Maia, Mia and Kacie-Ann
A huge thank you to Mrs Banfield and Jade for their support and encouragement!
