Forty girls from Years 4,5 and 6 came together to help raise the profile of girl's football. Over a two week period the girls worked with the students at North Kent College, to develop their football skills or learn new ones.
The girls were introduced to the world of Futsal. This is an exciting, fast-paced small sided football game that is widely played across the world. Many of the top world class footballers played Futsal in their youth and credit it with supporting their footballing development; players such as Pele and Messi both played and enjoyed Futsal.
Futsal balls are slightly smaller and heavier than the traditional footballs making it easier to control the ball.
The girls were split into mixed aged groups and rotated round 4 different activities; passing, dribbling, corner and penalty taking and shooting.
You can see from the photos below every single girl got involved and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working with the students and finished the program with a mini tournament.
