Years 5/6 Mixed Kwik Cricket Tournament

On Tuesday 20th June, 10 children from years 5 and 6 represented the school in the District mixed 5/6 Kwik Cricket tournament.

In the past this has been a great tournament for us, having previously won the girls tournament and finishing within the top 4, although never actually winning.

Despite the soaring temperatures the team performed brilliantly with some amazing fielding and outstanding batting. The team opened up the tournament with a win over Langafel by 54 runs, this was closely followed by our second win over Bean. With two wins under our belts, we then found ourselves up against West Hill who had also won their first two games. We knew this was going to be a tough match and took nothing for granted. Batting first, West Hill began knocking up the runs and left us chasing them as we went into bat.  With only 6 runs separating us it was our closest match, but our superb batting gave us our third win.  Into our final match against Westgate, we left nothing to chance.  Another fantastic performance saw us take our forth win.

Our hard work had paid off, with four out of four wins we came away with a well deserved WIN!  This means we now have a playoff match against the Gravesham tournament winners, with the overall winner representing Dartford and Gravesham at the Kent Finals.

Well done to Libby, Lillie-Jo, Aaron, Riley M, Callum G, Tommy, Sanjaay, Shalom, Manvydas and Avin.

Thank you to the parents who came and showed their support.
