On Thursday 29th June, our rounders team headed off to The Brent Primary School for the District Rounders Tournament. Racing rounders is played with a team of 10 (5 girls and 5 boys). The aim of the game is for the batter to beat the ball to forth base. If the ball is dropped by the fielding team at any base, the ball has to go back to base 1 and start again. This is always a tough tournament for us, but in true Temple Hill style we never go into a tournament half hearted.
We had a tough opening match against The Brent's A team. It took us a while to get settled, but despite losing it was only by a short margin. Next up, West Hill! Batting first, we quickly found our stride and managed to score an impressive 9.5 runs. In our second innings we scored a further 9 runs giving us a total of 18.5 and our first win. Our third match was very tight, but unfortunately we lost to a strong Holy Trinity team. Our final game was against Dartford Bridge, another close match, but not enough for another win unfortunately.
For most of our team this was their final sports tournament representing Temple Hill. I wish them all the best as they prepare for secondary school. Thank you to each and every one of them, especially Libby who has represented the school in nearly every event for the last 3 years. Good luck Year 6!
Well done to: Libby, Sanjaay, Majus, Riley M, Shalom, Lillie-Jo, Ebony, Fatmata, Ruby H, Rishaun & Jedi
