Welcome to the Class Page of 1RB/TM
Logie-Baird Class

Our class is named after John Logie-Baird who invented the first television. We are inspired by him to use our imagination and creativity to achieve great things.
Our Topic
This term our topic is 'The Magic Toymaker'. We will be exploring history, science, design and technology, and geography through our learning about toys. We will be learning about Victorian toys, making our own puppets, investigating the materials toys are made from along with lots of other exciting things.
We are particularly looking forward to a drama workshop about Victorian toy makers on Wednesday 3rd February.

Writing and Reading
We are continuing to develop our phonics knowledge. We are reading traditional tales including Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood and The Gingerbread Man. It would be fantastic if you could share some traditional tales at home or ask your child about those they have learnt about in school. We will be using the stories as inspiration for our own writing as well as learning to write instructions.
Maths Day fun in Year 1!
We have been learning about money.
Sharing our learning with Year 2.
