1st Galaxy Games
On Friday 20th July over 160 children from Temple Hill made their way down to Central Park, Dartford, for the first Galaxy Games. This is an Inter-trust tournament where all three schools came together to compete in track and field events.
There were 6 boys and 6 girls from each year group (years 3-6) taking part in each of the following events:
- 60m, 70m or 80m sprint
- 200m or 300m race
- Standing long jump
- Javelin throw
- Shot put throw
The children competed in heats and then the winners from each heat raced in the final.
There were over 500 children from across the three schools, making this the biggest inter-trust event to date. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon of athletics, especially Temple Hill as we were crowned champions!
A huge thank you to Mayor of Dartford, David Mote, Councillor Jeremy Kite and Kashmir Powar from Dartford Council for coming along to the event and showing their support. In addition to attending the event, Councillor Kite also helped fund the event, for which we are extremely grateful.
Thank you to Traviss for commentating on the afternoons event and to all the parents and carers who came along to watch their child/children and support their school.
Well done to everyone who took part and to Temple Hill for winning. Go Team Red!
