Welcome to our class page!
We are named after the fantastic artist, author and illustrator Oliver Jeffers. We have discovered some very interesting facts about him (did you know that he used to want to play the spoons in a band?!), created our own Oliver Jeffers inspired artwork and read many of his brilliant children's books.
We wore green for Macmillan!
This term we will be learning about photography and how it has changed over the years. We will be researching the different types of cameras and the effects that can be created on photographs. We begin our topic by exploring the local area and finding out how it has changed over the years.
Term 2 'Say Cheese'
This term we are learning about significant people from the past. We will be researching the lives of various historical figures including Christopher Columbus, Florence Nightingale, Charles Dickens and Mary Seacole. We began our topic by turning our classroom into a Victorian School for an afternoon. We were surprised about how different it was and were very glad we were not real Victorian children!
In Literacy, we have been looking at Poetry. We looked at the poem Hand on the Bridge by Michael Rosen and performed it as groups and as a class.
We have been looking at measurement in Maths this term. When we looked at weight, we looked at lots of different household items and compared their weights using >, < and = symbols.
