Welcome to our class page- Webber class! 


We are named after one of the most successful composers of our time- Andrew Lloyd Webber. We have spent some time researching his life and work and we were absolutely astonished to hear about the amount of songs and musicals he has written and directed as well as the abundance of awards he has received. We enjoyed listening to some of his music also, our favourite song was 'Any dream will do' from the musical Joseph and the amazing technicoloured dreamcoat. We enjoyed it so much we put on a performance to year 2!


Our class story at the moment is 'Grandpa's Great Escape' by David Walliams (Miss Johnston's favourite author!). It is the story of a boy called Jack and his Grandpa who was a World War 2 flying ace. Grandpa has been sent to an old folk's home called Twilight Towers and it is up to Him and his grandson to plot a daring escape. We have only started reading this story so if you want to know more just ask anyone in our class as the term goes on. 




Our IPC topic this term is 'Chocolate'. As you can imagine we are incredibly excited about it! We will be carrying out investigations to test different types of chocolate, seeing how quickly or slowly they melt. We will be looking at sugar content and the effect of chocolate on our teeth and we will also be seeing what materials are best to keep chocolate as fresh as possible. We are going to be putting our design skills to the test this term by completing some market research, creating and selling our very own chocolate bars!

So far we have been tasting and evaluating different types of chocolate using our senses- the chilli flavoured chocolate had very mixed reviews!


Our personal learning goal this term is 'Thoughtfulness'. We will be learning to use a range of thinking skills in solving problems, considering and respecting alternative points of view and will also be identifying our own strengths and weaknesses and developing these further.

Term 4

Investigating chocolate using our senses

Temple Hill mystery! We arrived to school one day to discover that all of our chocolate had been eaten! It was up to Miss Johnston's literacy class to investigate.

We had a delicious chocolate workshop where we got to make our own Belgian chocolate lollies!

Inspire day- determination! We were trying to be more determined to finish a task, even though they were very tricky!

Term 2

Egyptian Day- For our exit point, we all dressed up as Egyptians for the day. We then got to experience Egyptian dance, food and games. Then our parents and carers came in to hear all about our learning. We taught them everything we have learnt and got them to take part in some activities!

Something exciting happened! Miss Johnston got to meet David Walliams and illustrator Tony Ross! They signed a book specially for the class and David Walliams was very excited to hear about how much our class loved his stories!
