4TL - Lennon
Welcome to the Class Page of 4TL (Lennon)
Staff in 4TL - Lennon

Hello and welcome to John Lennon class! Here you will find all the information you need to know about our class and all the amazing things we get up to.
It has been a busy start to the new year for Lennon Class. We began by learning all about the musician our class is named after, John Lennon. We've researched his childhood and found out all about his amazing journey to fame and stardom with The Beatles. We have spent some time listening to his songs and investigating the reason behind his most famous song, 'Imagine', we even put on our very own performance to year 2!
For story time we are enjoying The Firework Maker's Daughter, by Phillip Pullman. The story follows the life of young Lila, a girl who is desperate to follow in her father's footsteps and become a Firework Maker. However, he father's refusal to support her dreams forces her into taking action and with the help of her friends Chulak and Hamlet, she begins her dangerous trek to Mount Razvani.

Literacy
In Literacy, we have been studying the hit film 'The Prince of Egypt'. We have written numerous pieces of excellent writing, but Mr Leach also taught us to use iMovie to create a movie trailer. Have a look and tell us what you think...

Topic
Our IPC topic this term is 'Living together' and is all about communities locally and internationally. We have been learning about our local area of Dartford and not so local Kenya. We were fascinated to find out about the Maasai tribes living in The Maasai Mara in Kenya and how their life differs to ours. We are also hoping to talk to a school in Kenya to find out more about the similarities and differences between our schools, local areas and lives. One of our geography focuses has been on map work- we have even created maps of our own area!
Our personal learning goal this term is 'Collaboration'. We spent a day team building and learnt a lot about how we can work together and solve problems sensibly. Sometimes it is difficult to be collaborative but we have been learning about the benefits that it can bring!
Keep checking in on our page for further updates and photos!
