Hi, we are Grumley's Gizmos. You're welcome to come join us for reading/maths games on Friday mornings.

Our current class novel is 'Mr Stink'. It tells the story of Chloe, a girl who feels she is all alone in the world. But then she meets Mr Stink, the local tramp.  Yes, he does smell a bit, but he's the only person who's ever been nice to Chloe.  So you can imagine what her parents say when they find out Chloe let's him stay in their garden shed.

Our Classroom

We have fun too!

Term 5 - Living Together

This term we are learning all about the history of our local community and looking at ways we can improve our local area and school.  In History we will be finding out all about historical events and about someone who has played a significant role in our community.

In Art we will be creating a community sculpture for the school to represent all of our achievements.

We will also be learning about different community celebrations around the world.

For our trip this term we will be taking an environmental walk around the community of Temple Hill.

Dance and Drama

We are lucky enough to have Holly from Jiggle Club come into school on Tuesday afternoons. Since September we have been learning dance moves and drama techniques. We are currently working on a new dance routine that we are looking forward to performing to our parents in the Jiggle show later this year.

Here's some of the moves we have been learning.

Term 4 - Shake it!

This term we will learning about the 'States of Matter' and about milk.  Our visitor this term will be Professor Boggle. He will be demonstrating practical science experiments changing states of matter to different forms.  He will also show us how to use dry ice (carbon dioxide).  We are looking forward to making our own milk shakes!

Come and milk Daisy, year 4's new pet cow!

Term 3 - Active Planet

This term we will be learning all about volcanoes. Andrew Berry, a volcanologist will be visiting year 4 and teaching us about what lies beneath our feet and rocks.  We will also have the opportunity to make our own volcanoes using paper mache.  We are looking forward to watching them erupt as we add bicarbonate soda and vinegar.

We made snowmen during our Christmas parent craft afternoon.

Bright Sparks!

During this term we are learning about how electricity is made and how it works.  We will be visiting Littlebrook Powerstation to learn how the station generates electricity and sends it to our homes.  During science we will be making our own circuits and finding out about insulators and conductors.

Term 2 - Our trip to Littlebrook Powerstation

During term 1 we have been learning lots of interesting facts in our IPC topic Temples, Tombs and Treasures. If you would like to find out about the discovery of Tutankahmun's tomb come and read our fantastic news reports. We're very excited about our school trip to the British Museum.

Our current class novel is 'Gansta Granny'. It tells the story of an 11 year old boy called Ben who is made to visit his 'boring' Granny every Friday night by his parents. Ben hates the idea of spending time with his Granny, as all she does is make him play scrabble and eat cabbage soup. That is until Ben discovers that his Granny is really a master jewel thief.

Where learning, laughter, challenge and community responsibility are encouraged and celebrated!
