World Book Day on Thursday
Dear Parents and Carers,
WORLD BOOK DAY
This year World Book Day is on Thursday 2nd March – this year also marks World Book Day’s 20th birthday! World Book Day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading, especially for children. To help get them started on their reading journey, every child will receive a £1 World Book Day Book Token that can either be exchanged for one of TEN exclusive £1 World Book Day books or used to get £1 off any book costing £2.99 or more.
We will also be celebrating this great event by asking children to come in dressed as their favourite book character and bring their favourite book to school. There will be certificates and prizes for the most imaginative costume in each class – so start thinking about your costume now!
If you would like to find out more information about World Book Day, there are ideas, activities and resources at http://www.worldbookday.com/resources/primary/
We look forward to seeing your fantastic outfits on the 2nd March!
Many Thanks, Miss Emma Watson Literacy Leader
